Chorus5 (Yellow Group) – students who are only in Chorus
Blue Band5 and Blue Chorus5 are the same group of students
White Band5 and White Chorus5 are the same group of students

A full year, graded course, members of Chorus work to develop the skills necessary to become independent choral singers, and also build understanding of core music concepts, develop good vocal technique, and foster a strong commitment and love of choral music.  Students will be challenged throughout the year to improve vocal technique, music reading skills, aural literacy, and understanding of music concepts.  Sight-reading techniques, including solfege and a rhythmic counting system, will be examined.  Grading is based on participation, preparation, performance in concerts, assignments, and quizzes.

The 5th Grade Chorus performs twice during the school year. Attendance at performances is mandatory, and attendance at other music department events is encouraged.
