6TH GRADE CLASSROOM MUSIC

All 6th grade students take Music everyday for approximately six weeks as part of the Unified Arts rotation.  6th Grade Music emphasizes music reading, writing, performing, listening, and historical or cultural significance.  Core concepts included in this course are: rhythm and meter, key signatures and modes, and expressive elements of music.  Students are engaged in the three artistic processes: creating, performing, and responding to music throughout the six-week session.  Grading is based on class participation, assignments, projects, and quizzes.
