In grade 3, music students participate in a variety of musical experiences in the area of: singing, movement, instrument playing,, listening, notation reading and creating. 

The students perform and listen to music as a group.  They develop skills through pitch matching, echo singing, part singing, body percussion, movement, games, percussion instruments and guided activities in listening, improvisation and simple written musical notation.

In addition , all third graders learn to play the recorder.  This serves as an excellent “springboard” for future instrumental performance opportunities.

Students are assessed through individual and group observation of their participation, effort and performance skills
