The Color Guard at Lewis S. Mills High School marches with the Spartan Marching Band at all parade performances and competitions. Membership is not limited to current band members and is a great way for students who do not play a band instrument to become involved with the instrumental music program. Membership is limited by total number and try-outs may or may not be held in August depending upon interest.

The color guard is completely student run with regard to the writing and teaching of the routines. The student captains spend time over the summer vacation writing and teaching the routines to both the flag and rifle squads, and begin full squad rehearsals at the bands annual summer band camp.

The Director of Bands is the faculty advisor and is responsible for the student captain assignments as well as parent advisors. The student captains and parent advisors for the 2008-2009 school year are listed below:
