The Lewis S. Mills High School Symphonic Band is the main instrumental performing ensemble at Lewis S. Mills High School and is directed by Mr. John A. Deeb. A level 2 course at Lewis S. Mills High, this organization rehearses daily and engages in a variety of performances locally and throughout the United States and abroad.

Membership in the Symphonic Band is open to all students in grades 9-12 who have had previous experience on a band instrument. The Symphonic Band's membership includes representation from all four grade levels.

A member of the Symphonic Band should expect to learn and perform music on a grade III-IV level and be responsible for basic music theory principals.  All members are expected to attend all rehearsals and practice a minimum of 30-45 minutes per day outside of school.

Symphonic Band grades are determined by the following:

Attendance at rehearsals and performances
Written Assessments
Personal Musical Performance Achievement
Attitude and Behavior

All Symphonic Band members are also members of the Spartan Marching Band, and are responsible for participating in all performances and rehearsals for both organizations.
