I have wanted to create art my whole life. My high school was very fortunate to have a great visual arts teacher that really pushed me to go beyond what I thought I was capable of. After I graduated from art school, I began a tremendous journey of different art adventures. I have been a custom framer, graphic designer, art director, illustrator and freelance designer, and now I am a teacher. My mother is really my inspiration as she completed her MFA just two years ago at the age of 70. During her schooling, she pushed me to further myself and as a result I am a graduate of the Alternate Route to Certification. This is my favorite of all of the positions that I have had. I love to see the students grow, and help them see what they are capable of. I came to Region 10 in 2002, as a teaching assistant at Harwinton Consolidated School. I loved working with the kids, and pursued an art teaching degree. I was hired on as a part-time art teacher in 2006, working between Harwinton Consolidated School and Lake Garda School. I am at Har-Bur Middle School now teaching fifth grade, and loving every minute of it! The staff and the students make it so worthwhile. I live in Harwinton, Connecticut with my husband John and my two sons John and Steven.
